Free legal advice at "Stand Down"

Tomorrow morning, Attorney Cassandra Hearn will provide five hours of complimentary legal advice for some of San Diego’s most deserving clients. She will be volunteering to assist United States war veterans with pending legal issues. "Stand Down" is an annual event sponsored by the Veteran’s Village of San Diego and is designed to help our nation’s heroes get back on their feet again.

"Stand Down" San Diego was started in 1988 and is designed to give homeless veterans a “Hand up, not a handout.” Services for United States veterans include: legal advice and counseling, homeless court, veteran’s benefits, job counseling, shelter information, and more. CBS’s hit show, 60 Minutes featured Stand Down during their evening broadcast on July 10, 2011.  The segment can be viewed here.
